Our Beginnings

FROM INSIDE THE BOX, TO RETIRING THE BOX

Yes, we literally started inside a box! In 1949, American Viscose Corporation employees started their own credit Union, Viscose Employees Federal Credit Union with just their personal cash and a shoebox. They conducted their banking over lunch periods and soon grew much larger. A few decades and a couple name changes later, ONE Federal Credit Union now operates far outside of the box serving over 12,000 members.

Our Name
